Alvarez GGG in Play For May??

San Diego, Ca– Saul “Canelo” Alvarez wants the rematch with Gennady Golovkin for his next bout in May. Alvarez and Golovkin fought to a controversial split draw at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sept. 18. After the fight, Canelo told media that he planned to fight again till next year again (MAY).

“I want it to be my first fight of 2018. I do not want another fight that is not the tiebreaker with Golovkin, and that’s what we’re going to try to do,” said Canelo at the annual convention of the World Boxing Association (WBA) this past week.

President of Golden Boy Promotions Eric Gomez confirms that negotiations are underway for the rematch.
” We want to make the fight right away; We are already in talks with team GGG. March or May are in play, great months for boxing.” Gomez told ESPN’s Golpe A Golpe.

Expect the rematch to happen on Cinco de Mayo another huge Mexican holiday and a great day for big boxing events.
