Amanda Serrano Sets Final Fight Against Skye Falzon for Jan. 9 in Puerto Rico

Amanda Serrano has set the final fight of her historic boxing career. The seven-division world champion will defend her WBA and WBO featherweight titles against Australia’s Skye Falzon on January 9 at Coliseo de Puerto Rico in San Juan, Most Valuable Promotions announced Wednesday. The event, billed as “The Last Walk,” gives Serrano a hometown farewell after a career that helped transform the visibility and earning power of women’s boxing.

Serrano enters the bout with a 50-4-1 record and 32 knockouts, while Falzon is 12-2 with seven stoppages. Beyond retaining her unified titles, Serrano has one more piece of history within reach: she is tied with Christy Martin for the women’s all-time knockout record. A stoppage victory in her finale would give Serrano the record outright. Her résumé already includes championships in seven weight divisions, becoming Puerto Rico’s first undisputed boxing champion and participating in the first women’s bout to headline Madison Square Garden.

The retirement will not end Serrano’s influence on the sport. Under her lifetime agreement with MVP, she is expected to remain involved with the company’s women’s boxing initiatives after her fighting career. January 9 therefore serves as both a farewell fight and a transition into the next stage of one of women’s boxing’s most consequential careers.
