New York, New York- For the first time in Heavyweight History at the sold out Madison Square Garden in New York fans witness history as Andy Ruiz became the first Mexican to win the heavyweight championship of the world when he defeated Anthony Joshua.
New York and the world had Joshua as the huge favorite coming into the fight against Ruiz. Much was said about the body physics between both fighters, Ruiz showed the world that he was in better condition during the fight. In the first round, Ruiz controlled the rhythm of the fight as he made the bigger Joshua fight from his back foot. In the 3rd round, we maybe saw the round of the year as both fighters touch the canvas. Joshua dorp Ruiz with a massive left hook in the third round. Joshua came for the kill and Ruiz landed a hard shot and drop Joshua. Joshua was severely hurt, and Ruiz dropped him again. Joshua never looked the same after the round. Ruiz started to attack the body in the fourth round Joshua looked hurt and confused. Ruiz kept landing body shots in the sixth sound, and he continued to punish Joshua. Once the seventh round started, Ruiz landed a massive hook that put Joshua in bad shape. Ruiz attacked him and dropped him again with combinations. Joshua was able to beat the count. He got up but was in bad shape as Ruiz went for the kill and dropped him again. Joshua was able to beat the count, but he never responds, and the referee called the fight.
Andy Ruiz Became the first ever heavyweight champion. Eddie Hearn and Anthony Joshua both want the rematch in the U.K. Will Andy Ruiz go to the Uk to face Joshua?? Ruiz Holds all the belts now so i think the rematch will be in Vegas. Only time will tell.
