“It was a spectacular knockout. It was a punch we were working on. It wasn’t that wide. I used to use that punch way back when. I came up with the shot and he never saw it coming. My brother (Andre) was yelling at me and I said, ‘I got it.’ I saw it and I had to take advantage of it. I had to take it away from him.
“If I give 100 percent it’s something I know I can do. I was in the gym every day for the past two months. It’s a process and a sacrifice. I have some of the best coaches in the game. It’s a blessing to have the team I have and the family there for me. They are family and that’s what it’s about. I love it. I show up and I show out for them.
“I expected to stop him, I did. I thought I was going to catch him with a right hand over the top, honestly. I knew he thought I was going to throw that so I just came up with the uppercut.
“I came out here and made a statement.
“I knew he would tire from the body shots. It’s something that we focused on and practiced in the gym.
“I want the winner of the main event tonight, either Canelo or Plant. That’s what we’re working for, me and SugarHill (Steward). We’ve worked hard to get here. In my career, I’ve had none of the major fights. But that would be a major fight, we all know that. And I want it.”
