London England– Over 68th thousand boxing fanatics made it a rainy Wembley Stadium to witnessed the showdown between Anthony Joshua and Alexander Povetkin Championship fight.
In the first round, both fighters started slow, but at the end of the round, Povetkin landed a solid combination that stumbles Joshua, and it seems to break his nose. At the beginning of the second Joshua, nose kept bleeding, and Povetkin used his speed and loopy shots to discomfort the champion. Joshua began to use his jab and length and help him control the 3rd and 4th round. In the fifth round, Povetkin landed solid uppercuts and hooks. After the sixth round, Povetkin seemed to be less explosive and began to slow down. Once the 7th round started, it was all Joshua. Joshua fake to body and landed a solid punch to the Povetkin chin. That shot hurt Potvetkin and Joshua made him pay by dropping and then stopping him. Joshua plans to return in April and hopes he gets to fight the winner of Deontay Wilder v Tyson Fury that is happening this December.
“Wilder is on top of my list,” Joshua said when asking about his next opponent.
Joshua remains the undefeated IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion. Will Joshua get unification fight against Wilder only time will tell.
