Bobby Portis has been suspended for 25 games

On February 20, 2025, reports emerged that Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis has been suspended for 25 games without pay for violating the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program.

The suspension stems from Portis testing positive for Tramadol, a pain medication that is not approved under the league’s policy. His agent, Mark Bartelstein, stated that Portis unintentionally took Tramadol, mistaking it for Toradol, an approved pain medication commonly used by players and teams.

With 29 games left in the Bucks’ regular season, this suspension means Portis will miss nearly all of the remaining games, returning only for the final few if the timeline holds. This is a significant blow to the Bucks, given Portis’ key role as a reserve averaging 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds this season.
