MANCHESTER, England — Joshua Buatsi and Willy Hutchinson made the 175-pound championship limit Friday ahead of their November 7 rematch for the vacant WBC light heavyweight world title at AO Arena. Buatsi weighed 174.9 pounds, while Hutchinson registered 174.5, clearing the way for Saturday’s Queensberry Promotions main event on DAZN. Buatsi initially needed to return to the scales but successfully made weight.
The rivals first met at Wembley Stadium in September 2024, when Buatsi survived Hutchinson’s late pressure and won a split decision after scoring two knockdowns. This time, the prize is the full WBC championship rather than the interim belt originally advertised, following David Benavidez’s move to cruiserweight.
Other notable weigh-in results included Brad Rea (173.8) and Ezra Taylor (174.7) for their light heavyweight matchup. Jack Rafferty (146.9) and Hovhannes Martirosyan (146.0) made weight for their welterweight contest, while British featherweight title opponents Zak Miller (125.7) and Gully Powar (125.5) also came in on target. The two headliners can now turn their attention from the scales to the title at stake.
