Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell Just Made WNBA History — and the Fever Are Getting Scary

The Indiana Fever aren’t just winning anymore—they’re starting to look like a team nobody will want to see when the postseason arrives. Indiana beat the Toronto Tempo 101-95 Tuesday night for its fifth straight victory and 10th win in 12 games, with Kelsey Mitchell pouring in 29 points and Caitlin Clark adding 24.

But the numbers behind the win are even more impressive. Clark and Mitchell have now each scored at least 20 points in the same game 16 times this season, setting a new WNBA record. Mitchell also reached 20 points for the 20th consecutive game, tying A’ja Wilson for the longest streak of its kind in league history. She didn’t even play in the fourth quarter after becoming overheated, according to Fever coach Stephanie White. Indiana still held off Toronto and continued its late-season surge.

That’s what should concern the rest of the league. Clark remains the headline attraction, but Indiana isn’t depending on one superstar to survive anymore. Mitchell is playing at a historic level, Aliyah Boston continues to provide interior production, and the Fever are stacking victories at exactly the right time. If this version of Indiana carries into the playoffs, the Fever could become much more than a popular team—they could become a serious problem.
