Canelo Alvarez Now A 4 Division Weight Champion After Stopping Kovalev In The 4th Round

Most fans had this fight a draw with 5 rounds apiece going into the 11th round. Kovalev was just pity patting and pawing all night long while not delivering a strong right hand the make Canelo respect him. He was only able to get away with it for so long. Going into the 11th it was a back and forth again but then Canelo landed a left hook that got past Kovalev guard and he had noodle legs and wobbled back. Canelo took advantage and delivered a “perfect” right to the chin which then made Kovalev slump in between the ropes. The referee saw that it was over and that Kovalev was out.

Canelo is now a 4 division champion. Currently, he is not sure what weight class he wants to stay at but he has options.

Kovalev ended up getting up and he was fine. He gave Canelo his props and said he will be back.

Two judges had Canelo up 96-94 and the last judge had it a draw at 95-95.
