7-Foot-5 Cherif Millogo Commits to Kentucky, Gives Mark Pope Major 2027 Recruit

Kentucky landed one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2027 recruiting class Wednesday, November 4, when towering center Cherif Millogo committed to the Wildcats. The St. Francis High School standout from La Cañada Flintridge, California, is listed at 7-foot-4 by 247Sports and 7-foot-5 by other recruiting services. ESPN ranks him among the nation’s top 10 prospects, while Rivals also places him near the top of its national list.

Originally from Burkina Faso, Millogo brings exceptional size and a rapidly developing skill set to coach Mark Pope’s recruiting class. He averaged 26 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks per game last season, according to recruiting coverage from Rivals. His recruitment included interest from several major programs, and he made visits to Kentucky, USC and BYU before announcing his decision. He cited his official visit and Pope’s approach to developing and using big men as major reasons for choosing Lexington.

Millogo joins guard Ryan Hampton as another member of Kentucky’s 2027 group. If he reaches the court in a Wildcats uniform at his listed height, he could become the tallest player in program history, surpassing 7-foot-3 Shagari Alleyne. Recruiting rankings vary by service, and size alone guarantees nothing at the college level, but his combination of length, rim protection and scoring potential gives Kentucky a headline-making building block for the future.
