Demetrius Andrade Escapes Germany With a Split Decision Over Jack Culcay

Germany – Demetrius Andrade became the New WBA Super Welterweight after defeating Jack Culcay by split decision.

Andrade started strong but tired in the late rounds and allowed Culcay to get back into the fight. After the seventh round, Culcay began to throw combinations that force Andrade to use his footwork skills.

Andrade showed ring rust and was not able to use his height and reach to his advantage. Culcay gained his confidence a little too late into the fight but manage to wobble Andrade.

Two of the judges score it 116-112 in his favor of Andrade and the other score it 115-114 for Culcay.

Andrade came in as the favorite and one of the most fear Super Welterweight in the division. After this poor performance by Andrade other  Super Welterweight will be interested in fighting him for his newly acquired WBA belt.

Andrade improved to (24-0 16KOs) while Culcay dropped (22-2 11 KOs).
