Diego Pacheco has now withdrawn from his fight against Christian Mbilli

Diego Pacheco, a 23-0 super middleweight contender with Matchroom Boxing, was set to fight Christian Mbilli for the WBC interim title, a bout that would have positioned the winner as the mandatory challenger for Canelo Alvarez’s unified belts.

The fight was ordered by the WBC, with a purse bid scheduled for April 8, 2025, but Pacheco’s withdrawal led to its cancellation, as confirmed by WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman.

Christian Mbilli, an unbeaten 28-0 fighter from Montreal, has been seeking top-tier super middleweight fights, previously negotiating with Pacheco for an IBF title eliminator, and now faces another delay in his pursuit of a championship shot.
