Golden Boy Signs Brandon Adams as Veteran Contender Targets World Title Run

Golden Boy Promotions added another experienced contender to its roster Wednesday, announcing the signing of Brandon “The Cannon” Adams as the 37-year-old looks to make one more serious push toward a world championship.

Adams (26-4, 16 KOs) enters the deal with significant momentum after defeating Serhii Bohachuk for the second time in September 2025. He is currently rated No. 3 by the IBF at junior middleweight, with the top two positions vacant, and No. 2 by the WBC. Adams previously challenged Jermall Charlo for the WBC middleweight championship in 2019 and also owns wins over Shane Mosley Jr., Francisco Veron and Bohachuk.

The signing gives Golden Boy a veteran contender who could quickly factor into the title picture rather than requiring a lengthy rebuilding process. Adams said his goal is to close out his career by becoming a world champion, while Golden Boy chairman Oscar De La Hoya described him as a battle-tested fighter capable of competing with top opposition. No debut date or opponent under the Golden Boy banner was announced.
