Jake Paul Medically Cleared to Box Again After Anthony Joshua Broke His Jaw

Jake Paul has been medically cleared to return to boxing nearly 10 months after Anthony Joshua knocked him out and broke his jaw in two places. Most Valuable Promotions co-founder Nakisa Bidarian announced the clearance Thursday, removing the biggest medical obstacle between Paul and another fight. Paul required surgery immediately after the December 2025 loss and underwent a second procedure in February.

The timing is notable because Paul simultaneously reignited speculation about his next opponent. He posted a lengthy wish list that included Canelo Alvarez, Francis Ngannou, Conor McGregor, Ryan Garcia, Chris Eubank Jr., Edgar Berlanga, Deontay Wilder and Gervonta Davis, along with an eventual world-title opportunity. No opponent, date or venue has been announced, so the list should be treated as ambition rather than matchmaking news.

The actual development is the medical clearance. Earlier this year, Paul and his team were still discussing whether his jaw would tolerate sparring and whether a late-2026 return was realistic. Now the physical hurdle appears to have been cleared. Whatever fans think of Paul’s opponent list, his return matters commercially: his events remain among boxing’s biggest crossover attractions. The next meaningful update will be whether MVP turns one of those names into a signed contract rather than another social-media callout.
