The Charlotte Hornets tipped off preseason media day with plenty of storylines, but none bigger than the return of LaMelo Ball. The star guard arrived noticeably stronger, a sign of his offseason commitment to getting his body ready for the grind of a long NBA season.
Ball spoke about his work in the weight room, emphasizing that it wasn’t just about adding muscle, but about becoming a leader his teammates can consistently rely on. “We watched film, went over it… we knew I had to get in the weight room and get stronger,” Ball said. “Pretty much just being there for the team, being a leader, getting us over the hump and being somebody you can rely on and count on.”
The Hornets have struggled in recent years to find stability, but with a stronger, more determined LaMelo at the helm, there’s real optimism in Charlotte that the franchise can begin to turn the corner.
