Puente, 19 years old of Vista, California by way of Sinaloa, Mexico will
campaign in the lightweight division.
Puente started boxing at the age of eight years-old by his father/trainer,
Ivan.
He went on to win the 2016 National Youth Open Championship and was a
member of Team USA. Puente was a favorite to be a member of the 2020
United States Olympic Team.
Puente, who stands 5’8″ likens his style to a cross between Danny Garcia
and Yuriorkis Gamboa.
“Boxing is everything to me! I live, eat and sleep boxing 24/7. Boxing is
always on my mind,” said Puente. “When the boxing world sees me fight, they
will see an old-school warrior that will do everything he can to come out
victorious,” said Puente. “I take a lot from all the great fighters of the
past like Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, Eric Morales and
Sugar Ray Leonard, and put into me: Eric Puente, future superstar in
boxing!”
