MINNEAPOLIS, MN – The Minnesota Timberwolves responded with force in Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals, crushing the Oklahoma City Thunder 143–101 at the Target Center on Saturday night. The win cuts Oklahoma City’s series lead to 2–1 and marks a franchise-best playoff performance for Minnesota.
From the opening tip, the Timberwolves came out firing. They overwhelmed OKC 34–10 in the first quarter and didn’t look back, putting up a franchise playoff record of 72 points by halftime. Their energy, execution, and relentless pace left the Thunder struggling to find answers.
Anthony Edwards was electric, finishing with 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists on 12-of-17 shooting in just three quarters of play. Julius Randle added 24 points and provided a strong inside-out presence, while rookie Terrence Shannon Jr. delivered 15 points off the bench—including 9 in a second-quarter burst that widened the gap.
Meanwhile, the Thunder were completely out of rhythm. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the star of Games 1 and 2, was held to just 14 points. Jalen Williams chipped in with 13, but no other OKC player reached double digits until late in the fourth quarter.
Turnovers, poor shot selection, and defensive breakdowns plagued Oklahoma City, who were out-rebounded and out-hustled across the board. Coach Mark Daigneault’s squad now faces critical adjustments ahead of Game 4.
With Game 4 looming, Minnesota has seized momentum and re-ignited the series.
