How about this?
Top Rank announced they have signed Sammy Contreras, a 21-year-old undefeated lightweight prospect and 14-time national amateur champion from Los Angeles, to a multi-year promotional contract.
Contreras, whose heritage is Mexican, Salvadoran, and Honduran, will return to the ring on Saturday, March 21, for a six-round bout against Cesar Cantu at the National Orange Show Event Center in San Bernardino, California.
Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum stated that Contreras is a talented young lightweight with limitless potential and ties to multiple communities.
Contreras expressed that signing with Top Rank is a result of his hard work and sacrifice, and he intends to continue proving he belongs.
Contreras is an American-born fighter who joins a promotional banner that has previously promoted the first Salvadoran-American world champion (Carlos “El Famoso” Hernandez in 2003) and the first Honduran-American world champion (Teofimo Lopez in 2019).
