76ers Hire Brad Jones to Run Delaware Blue Coats Basketball Operations
The Philadelphia 76ers made a significant change to their developmental pipeline Tuesday, naming Brad Jones general manager of the Delaware Blue Coats and a pro scout for the NBA club. Jones becomes the seventh executive to lead basketball operations for the Sixers’ G League affiliate and replaces Ariana Andonian, who left last month to become general manager of the WNBA’s Los Angeles Sparks.
Jones arrives with unusually deep G League experience. He spent the past eight years in the league office, most recently as Basketball Affairs and Player Personnel Lead, working with player contracts, transactions and league operations. He also helped assemble the G League United roster that won the 2026 FIBA Intercontinental Cup in Beijing. Before joining the league office, Jones worked in scouting and video roles with the Orlando Magic and later consulted for USA Basketball.
The hire matters because Delaware has become an important extension of Philadelphia’s basketball operation rather than simply a minor-league affiliate. Sixers executives Jameer Nelson and Prosper Karangwa previously held leadership roles with the Blue Coats before moving into the NBA front office. Jones now takes over ahead of Delaware’s Nov. 6 opener against the Capital City Go-Go, with the job of developing players who could eventually help the Sixers.
