Top-30 Guard Devin Cleveland Commits to Missouri Over Michigan and TCU

Missouri added another major piece to its 2027 recruiting class Friday when four-star guard Devin Cleveland committed to the Tigers. The 6-foot-3 La Lumiere standout chose Missouri over Michigan and TCU after narrowing a larger offer list to three finalists. Cleveland is ranked No. 29 in ESPN’s SC Next 100 and around the top 30 nationally by 247Sports, making him one of Dennis Gates’ biggest commitments in the cycle.

Cleveland brings a proven scoring profile to Columbia. He shot 47 percent from three during the 2025-26 EYBL Scholastic season and has repeatedly participated in USA Basketball junior national team camps. His combination of perimeter shooting, ballhandling and playmaking gives Missouri another guard capable of creating with or without the ball. He joins four-star guards Scottie Adkinson and Cameron Barnes in a class that has quickly climbed near the top of the national rankings.

The larger story is Missouri’s recruiting momentum. Cleveland’s decision gives Gates three four-star pledges before the early signing period and another win over high-major competition. For a program trying to build sustainable SEC success, landing a top-30 guard from national powerhouse La Lumiere is more than another commitment—it is evidence Missouri is becoming increasingly difficult to beat for elite Midwest talent.
