Devin Haney vs. Liam Paro Official for Dec. 19 Welterweight Unification in San Francisco

Devin Haney and Liam Paro will meet in a welterweight title unification fight on Saturday, December 19, at Chase Center in San Francisco. Top Rank formally announced the matchup Thursday, confirming that Haney’s WBO championship and Paro’s IBF belt will both be at stake. The bout headlines a DAZN pay-per-view broadcast beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern. Former welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. will face Abel Ramos in the 10-round co-feature.

Haney (33-0, 15 KOs) returns to the Bay Area, where he defeated Regis Prograis in 2023, seeking another major championship at a new weight. He claimed the WBO welterweight title by outpointing Norman in November 2025. Paro (28-1, 16 KOs), a southpaw from Australia, became a two-division world champion in June when he defeated previously unbeaten Lewis Crocker for the IBF welterweight crown. Paro has already demonstrated his willingness to travel into hostile territory, having upset Subriel Matias in Puerto Rico in 2024.

The pairing had been reported as close to completion in October, but Thursday’s announcement is the meaningful change: a confirmed championship fight, venue and broadcast platform. With two of the four major welterweight belts on the line, the winner will be in a stronger position to pursue an undisputed championship. Haney has the hometown stage; Paro has another opportunity to turn an away assignment into the biggest victory of his career. Ticket information and the remaining pay-per-view bouts have not yet been announced.
