Vasiliy Lomachenko’s return to boxing has taken a concrete step forward. Top Rank announced Thursday that the former three-division world champion has entered a multi-year co-promotional agreement through his newly formed Loma Power Promotions. The two-time Olympic gold medalist plans to compete at super featherweight, the 130-pound division, when he returns in early 2027. No opponent or exact fight date has been confirmed.
Lomachenko (18-3, 12 KOs), 38, announced his retirement in June 2025 after a career that included world championships at featherweight, junior lightweight and lightweight. His last fight was an 11th-round stoppage of George Kambosos Jr. in May 2024 to win the IBF lightweight championship. Although Lomachenko had already discussed a comeback in recent months, Thursday’s announcement makes the promotional arrangement official and identifies the division in which he intends to chase the one major goal missing from his professional résumé: undisputed champion.
The path could eventually lead to O’Shaquie Foster, who unified three major titles at 130 pounds with an October victory over Emanuel Navarrete. A possible February meeting with unbeaten contender Charly Suarez has also been reported, but it remains a target rather than a signed fight. The immediate story is the confirmed partnership with Top Rank and the prospect of Lomachenko testing his celebrated skills against a new generation of junior lightweights after more than two years out of the ring.
