Gabby Williams Drops 30 as Valkyries Win WNBA Championship in Historic Game 7

Gabby Williams delivered the defining performance of the 2026 WNBA season Saturday night, scoring 30 points as the Golden State Valkyries defeated the Atlanta Dream 68-63 in the first Game 7 in WNBA Finals history. Williams scored 28 of her 30 after halftime, helping Golden State erase a six-point halftime deficit and capture the franchise’s first championship in only its second season.

Williams took over when the title was hanging in the balance. She scored 15 points in the third quarter, then broke a 57-57 tie late in the fourth with a deep three-pointer before adding two free throws. She also finished with four blocks and was named WNBA Finals MVP. Kiah Stokes added 13 rebounds and two blocks, while Veronica Burton posted 10 points and 10 rebounds. Jordin Canada led Atlanta with 18 points, Allisha Gray scored 16, and Angel Reese finished with eight points and 12 rebounds.

The championship completes one of the fastest rises in professional sports. Golden State reached the playoffs in its inaugural 2025 season, then turned its second year into a title run. The Valkyries came back from a 2-1 Finals deficit and survived Atlanta forcing a winner-take-all finale. On the league’s biggest stage, Williams produced a historic second half and gave the WNBA’s newest champion its signature moment.
