Michigan State Lands 6’10 Four-Star Center Jaydn Jenkins for 2027 Class
Tom Izzo has added another major piece to Michigan State’s 2027 recruiting class. Four-star center Jaydn Jenkins committed to the Spartans Wednesday night, choosing Michigan State over a group that included Ohio State, Georgetown, Xavier and NC State. The 6-foot-10 Archbishop Wood standout is ranked around No. 60 nationally and No. 8 among centers in the 247Sports Composite.
The number that immediately jumps off Jenkins’ scouting profile is 7-foot-4—his reported wingspan. Jenkins averaged 9.7 points, 6.8 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game during his junior high-school season while shooting better than 62% from the floor. On the Nike EYBL circuit, he shot 67.2%. Jenkins has also been selected for the upcoming USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team minicamp.
Michigan State now has two significant pieces in its 2027 class. Jenkins joins five-star point guard Antonio Pemberton, giving Izzo an intriguing inside-out combination before the early signing period. Both prospects visited East Lansing during Michigan State’s “Grind Week,” when numerous former Spartans and NBA players return to work with the current program. One commitment can be coincidence. Landing both Pemberton and Jenkins after the same weekend suggests Michigan State found a recruiting pitch worth repeating.
