Houston Comets Unveil New Logo Ahead of 2027 WNBA Return
The Houston Comets officially unveiled their new visual identity Thursday night at POST Houston, giving fans their clearest look yet at the franchise that will return to the WNBA in 2027. The primary logo features an ascending “H” crossed by a streaking basketball, with four stars honoring the four consecutive championships won by the original Comets from 1997 through 2000. The revived franchise will use red, navy and silver as its signature colors.
The unveiling was more than a branding event. President of basketball operations Jennifer Rizzotti and general manager Morgan Tuck remain in place as the former Connecticut Sun organization transitions to Houston, and the front office enters the offseason with a high 2027 draft pick and significant salary-cap flexibility. Houston shares the best odds for the No. 1 selection in the Nov. 15 WNBA Draft Lottery and cannot fall below No. 3. The team is also expected to play its home games at Toyota Center, where renovations have included upgrades with the WNBA club in mind.
For Houston, the logo launch marks another tangible step toward opening night. The organization says additional brand elements will be revealed in the coming months, while the 2027 WNBA schedule is expected in early December. With a historic name, a modernized identity and major roster-building decisions ahead, the Comets’ return is quickly moving from announcement to reality.
