Four-Star Wing Maci Pringle Commits to Tennessee, Gives Lady Vols First 2027 Pledge
Tennessee landed its first commitment in the 2027 women’s basketball class Tuesday when four-star wing Maci Pringle announced she is joining the Lady Vols. The 6-foot-1 Flower Mound, Texas, standout is ranked No. 33 nationally by ESPN and chose Tennessee after drawing offers from a long list of major programs, including Vanderbilt, Georgia, Oklahoma, Oregon, Alabama and Texas A&M.
Pringle gives Kim Caldwell a productive, versatile perimeter piece to build around. She averaged 21.0 points, 10.1 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3.5 steals as a junior while leading Flower Mound to the state championship game for the first time in school history. She also surpassed 1,000 career points and set a school single-season scoring record with 796 points. Pringle took an official visit to Knoxville earlier this month before making her decision.
The commitment matters beyond simply getting Tennessee on the board in 2027. Pringle’s size, rebounding and transition ability fit the kind of athletic, high-energy basketball Caldwell wants to play, while her improving perimeter game gives her room to develop into a true wing at the college level. For Tennessee, landing a top-35 national prospect from talent-rich Texas is a strong first step toward building a class capable of keeping the Lady Vols in the national recruiting conversation.
